Obama: A thousand words

February 26th, 2008, 9:47 am · 3 Comments · posted by Scott Kent

What are we supposed to glean from this picture?

1) That Barack Obama, like many politicians, is willing to don the native garb of the foreign nation he is visiting (in this instance, Kenya in 2006) as a show of respect.

2) That Barack Hussein Obama has some Muslim roots (his late father was raised a Muslim), and do you really want a dark-skinned man in a turban and robe as your president? Maybe he’s a “Manchurian Muslim,” secretly groomed and programmed over the years to infiltrate the U.S. government and destroy America.

3) There’s nothing inherently wrong with what he’s wearing, but why is he so willing to “go native” in Kenya while refusing to wear an American flag lapel pin in this country?

There’s a lot of chatter out there about just who and what Obama is. A lot of it is false. Read this Snopes piece to separate fact from fiction.

Interesting link. It is disheartening to think that this is what we have to look forward to, 8 months of researching facts to find out if what the political commentators are saying is real or fiction. Reading the comments under the announcement that Mr Obama is coming to town is depressing, and it’s only going to get worse once the candidates are finalized in the conventions. I’m expecting the conventions to be real zoos, both on the inside and outside, which could well add unneeded fuel to the political fire.

On the other hand, I do not own an American flag lapel pin nor have I ever worn a turban, so I reckon that makes my opinion moot.

After reading these comments above I feel sick. It was just last week that GWB was in Africa dancing and acting a foll with the locals there. Nobody said anything about GW? The comments above make about as much REAL sense and saying McCain is a brainwashed communist(from his time in Hanoi) waiting to help the communists take over the USA once he is elected! Does that sound stupid or what? So does this junk about Barack. He is as much of an American as McCain, and I would challenge anyone to show the proof otherwise! This whole thing represents just a desparate act from a party who knows there time is up!! You Republicans had your chance and dumped this country into a depression! More of the same with McCain? I think not!

    Mel –

By “these comments above,” I’m wondering if you were referring to reader comments posted on an Obama news story out front.
